Education of Women plays a  crucial  role in the development of the country. Educating women is essential to improve the quality of life at home and the society at large. Women have to be educated with an education that will prepare them to face the challenges of life with efficiency.Keeping this is view our large – hearted and dynamic founder president and great Visionary His Hilliness Late Sriman Maharaj Niranjan   Jagdguru Dr. Gangadhar Rajyogeendra Mahaswamiji of Moorsavirmath, Hubli, who had a far sighted vision and zeal that made him to take the bad step of establishing Sri Jagadguru Moorsavirmath Vidyavardhak Sangha at Hubli in the year 1966.  Since  India is a fast developing country and female education should be given utmost importance, our Swamiji winced keen interest in the establishment of a college exclusively for women in 1967, which is a boon to the women of this region. Today its with pride that we can see this college standing as an epitome of excellence, a portal of higher education for the women of north Karnataka.

After the sad demise of Dr. Moojagam in May 2003, his Holiness Sriman Maharaj Rajyogeendra Mahaswamiji, was made the successor. The present swamiji also great interest in education of women, spiritualism, social service and upliftment of the downtrodden.

At present the college is affiliated to the Karnataka State Women’s University, Bijapur. The Institution has all the necessary infrastructure to facilitate meaningful teaching and learning. The management and faculty share a string belief and commitment in education and empowering women by giving them a wholesome education. The curricular and co-curricular activities with all the modern equipments are oriented towards the all round development of our students.

We make use of innovative methods of teaching to update the skills that are essential and relevant to the world of work. Our academic performance is outstanding with students securing 12 ranks at the B.Com and B.A examinations of 2008 -09. We are also proud to state that we have 21 university blues. If the college has grown in its academic statue and moral excellence and is reputed institution today, the credit must gratefully be assigned to the support and guidance of our management and the ardent and sincere efforts of our well qualified and experience staff both teaching and non teaching.

Thus this prestigious institution has carved a niche in the foray of women’s education. As we stand on the threshold of the 21st century, we will continue fervent endeavors in the education of women, which in India is still a crying need. We are certain that this institution will scale newer and greater heights in the years to come.
